After eight years concerned in bull using, Brodie Frizzell is nicely conscious it’s not a sport for the faint-hearted.
However even he acquired “a bit scared” whereas being trapped between the 1000kg bull ‘I’m a Thug’ and the chute, as he felt the “brute force” of the beast.

“The bull just sort of caught me out and got me under the vest, and pinned me against the chutes with its horn,” Frizzell instructed 7NEWS.
Frizzell was clowning on the Bullpit Bull Bash rodeo in Bloomsbury, north of Mackay, on Saturday when bull rider Trefor Sproule was bucked off I’m a Thug after 1.48 seconds.
He stepped in to do his job as a clown – getting between Sproule and the bull to “distract” the animal.
“The bull spotted us both pretty quickly. So I just did my job, put my hands on the bull,” Frizzell stated.
“But it just came that bit harder and got me under the vest.
“When I felt the horn go under the vest, that’s when I got a bit scared, yeah.
“It hit me and pushed me up to the chutes. But it followed through with it.
“That’s when he gave that horn one good shove, under my vest.”
Frizzell stumbled over to paramedics with the assistance of others and instructed them he was “in a bad way”.
He was airlifted to Mackay Hospital the place he discovered the extent of his injuries: a laceration on his spleen, haematoma on his abdomen and in depth bruising.
He’s been sidelined for eight weeks, however has no intention of giving up the rodeo life.
“It’s the game we play. You’re always going to have injuries and that,” he stated.
“I’m not scared to get back out there, as such, but I’ve just got to get everything right.
“I’ll put the other boys’ lives at a bit more risk if I’m not 100 per cent, so I’ve got to get right.”
