Australian featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski insists questions in regards to the legitimacy of his first two victories towards Max Holloway weren’t what motivated him to comply with a 3rd struggle at UFC 276.

Volkanovski will struggle Holloway in Las Vegas on July 3 after first defeating the American in 2019 and claiming the featherweight belt in an upset.

The pair’s second struggle in 2020 proved controversial, with MMA fighters together with Justin Gaethje, Dan Henderson and Uriah Corridor publicly questioning whether or not Volkanovski deserved his split-decision victory on the time.

“I plan on putting a beating on (Holloway) this time. I really do want to send a statement.
“Getting that dominant win will certainly assist that legacy that I would like.”
