The Teutopolis, IL Unit 50 School District confined 5 college students in isolation in separate rooms for a number of hours for not sporting a masks as a approach of protesting the varsity’s masks mandate.
The Edgar County Watchdogs obtained a photograph of one of many college students confined in a small room. The coed seemed to be of highschool age.
Nevertheless, new rules were approved in the States of Illinois governing the isolation of scholars. It states that isolation could also be used solely if the coed’s habits presents an imminent hazard of great bodily hurt to the coed or to others, when different much less intrusive measures have been tried and failed, workers members have been educated in isolation methods, and many others.”
One of many fathers commented on a Fb publish and mentioned:
“The people on the school board are my friends and neighbors. The teachers, students, faculty, parents etc are my friends and neighbors. To take the focus off where these mandates came from and route them to our local schools isn’t fair. Our board voted no mask. until half the students signed a petition saying they would wear the masks if it made life even a little more normal. If you want to be mad, be mad at the ISBE which was appointed by JB pritzker who finally punished your children enough to get them to succumb to their wishes.”
Final August 19, the varsity district was put on probation for 60 days after the board voted no for masks mandate. The district was threatened and would have misplaced all accreditation from ISBE — that means a lack of state and federal funding, together with ineligibility for state athletic and extracurricular competitions if the masks mandate haven’t been permitted by the board after 60 days.
With the strain from the Illinois State Board of Schooling, Teutopolis Unit 5o faculty board voted to approve a mask mandate for all college students and workers, efficient Friday.
