The fight for the Chancellery is in full swing. The Greens, SPD and CDU are sending three candidates into the race to succeed Angela Merkel. In the second part of the ‘Brigitte Live’ series of talks, CDU Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet answers the questions.
There is a general election on September 26th. Three people are applying to succeed Angela Merkel, who has voluntarily given up the office of Chancellor after four terms in office: Annalena Baerbock from the Greens, Armin Laschet from the CDU and Olaf Scholz from the SPD. The ‘Brigitte’ published by the same publisher as thesternappears, will speak to all three candidates for chancellor in July. Editor-in-chief Brigitte Huber and Meike Dinklage, the head of the current affairs department, have a one-to-one conversation with everyone.
Thesternthe conversations will be broadcast live and free of charge. The second person to talk to is Armin Laschet, the Union’s candidate for chancellor, on Thursday, July 7th, starting at 12.00 a.m.

What are the talks about?
In addition to their political goals, according to the ‘Brigitte’, the candidates will also share their personal values and attitudes. It should also be about such questions: What is moving you right now? How have you experienced the past few years? And how have you changed?
‘We are looking forward to three exciting evenings and special conversations with the top candidates: inside, which will of course be about politics, but also always about the people behind it,’ says editor-in-chief Brigitte Huber. ‘New this year is our live stream, which anyone interested can use to attend our talks live.’
The three events each take place at 6:00 p.m. in the ASTOR Film Lounge in Berlin (Kurfürstendamm 225, 10719 Berlin).
