Winnetou actor Alexander Klaws is versatile. The actor, singer and musical artist used the lockdown to write new songs. ‘Now it’s the turn of the music again,’ he says.
The actor and musical performer Alexander Klaws used the time of the corona lockdown to write new songs.
‘Now it’s the turn of the music again,’ he told the German press agency. ‘You have to use the time somehow.’ The 37-year-old should actually be on stage again as Winnetou at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg this summer. But because of the corona pandemic, the piece ‘The Oil Prince’, which was actually planned for 2020, has been postponed for the second time.
‘I miss the Karl May Games and the contact with colleagues,’ said Klaws. «Karl May is not just a stage where you take part. It’s a philosophy, a lifestyle, ”he enthuses. «I mean, you just have to look down into the arena. There is nothing like it in Germany, if not Europe-wide, where you can do something like that. ‘
Instead of being the Apache chief Winnetou, Klaws can now be seen on August 1st together with his band as a singer on the stage at the Segeberger Kalkberg. At the concert entitled “Pop Meets Movie & Musical Hits”, Winnetou will also play a role here and there, announced Klaws. “But I don’t think I’ll ride on stage to the Winnetou melody. That would be too trite, ‘he said.
Further guest performances with the program are planned on the island of Föhr (August 14), in Stade in Lower Saxony (November 19) and in Norderstedt near Hamburg (November 26). There are also appearances in Berlin (Waldbühne, August 22), Dortmund and Darmstadt, among others. Klaws did not want to comment on any further plans. ‘I don’t like to look at my cards,’ said the 37-year-old, who became known on RTL in 2003 as the winner of the first season of ‘Deutschland sucht den Superstar’ (DSDS).
