He considers one party to be completely without alternative: Farin Urlaub from the Doctors has made a recommendation.
In view of the flood disaster in large parts of West Germany, Farin Urlaub, singer and guitarist of the Berlin punk rock band Die Ärzte (“Ich, am Strand”), has clearly positioned himself for a decision in the federal election.
‘It is none of my business who you vote for in September, and I am always of the opinion that everyone should think for themselves and find out more,’ wrote the 57-year-old in the guest book on his homepage. ‘But there is only one party whose sole purpose has been the health of our planet since it was founded, and I actually think that there is absolutely no alternative to this party.’ There is no direct reference to the Greens in the posting.
Urlaub is involved with his band colleagues Bela B (58) and Rodrigo Gonzalez (53) in addition to social actions again and again politically. The most famous example is her hit song “Scream for Love” against right-wing extremism.
‘Unfortunately, I am less surprised that the weather is going crazy, but rather that the entire catastrophe scenarios will become reality much faster than even the most pessimistic scientists feared and prophesied 10 or 15 years ago,’ wrote Urlaub. He warned against ‘being distracted by debates about the leadership qualities of individuals’ from the real issue. “We are currently destroying this earth, which, by the way, we do not inhabit alone, and in my opinion a government is needed that takes this creeping threat as seriously as it has to take it. And not just now, when climate change can no longer be discussed away. ‘
The vacation, known to be extremely fond of traveling, immediately reacted to possible criticism of its own contribution through extensive tours around the world. ‘I know that myself, but that’s another discussion – and shouldn’t be an excuse not to change anything now.’
