‘The Simpsons’ and their clairvoyant abilities: Did the makers foresee Richard Branson’s space flight years ago?
Has the ‘Simpsons’ oracle struck again? As Twitter users have now found out, Richard Branson (70) is said to have flown into space in the series years ago. The billionaire broke through the earth’s atmosphere with his rocket plane just a few days ago on July 11th and experienced weightlessness for a few minutes. On the official Twitter account of Richard Branson’s company ‘Virgin Atlantic’ you can see a photo of the space flight from July 11th as well as a picture from the said ‘Simpsons’ episode. ‘The Simpsons’ predicted it,’ the comment reads.
While Branson wasn’t officially guest-starred on the show, the resemblance cannot be overlooked. There are different details about which episode this picture comes from. While some claim to have recognized the episode ‘Yes, that bee I mean, that’s Monty’ (2008) from season 20, others cite the episode ‘Painting by Numbers’ (2014) from season 25.
It’s not the first time the show’s creators have demonstrated clairvoyant skills. In 1993 they predicted the tiger attack on magician Roy Horn (1939-2021) in 2003 in the episode ‘Obsessed by the devil’. The episode ‘Bart’s look into the future’ made Donald Trump (75) US President in 2000 – 16 years before his election victory.
